Pie contests. I see them all the time at fairs and festivals, but I’ve never personally entered one before. However, when it was announced that our church 4th of July event was hosting a pie contest I figured I’d throw my hat in and see what would happen.
I’m not that much of a pie person – the only pies I’ve ever really made are pecan, pumpkin, peanut butter, and key lime pies – so, first things first, I headed on over to the wonderful world of Pinterest. 🙂 Bad move. I quickly realized that that was a bad idea because now I had at least six different types of pies I wanted to make! But, being who I am, I eventually decided ditch them all and come up with my own totally original pie based on my favorite summer desert: banana pudding.
